Sri Lanka is home to many places rooted in spiritual wisdom and traditions of inner exploration. From places associated with the Siddhars and Siddhar Yoga to ancient sites where people have sought understanding and spiritual growth for generations, the island offers many opportunities to explore the path within.
The Siddhar path invites us to look beyond the surface of our everyday lives, to develop awareness, and to discover a deeper understanding of ourselves and the life we experience. Through Siva Yoga and other forms of inner practice, we can begin to turn our attention inward and explore this journey through our own experience.
Here, we introduce places connected with these traditions — places where we can learn, reflect, sit in stillness, and continue our search for understanding. Each place has its own story, history, and approach, and each may offer a different perspective on the journey.
The purpose is not simply to travel from one sacred place to another, but to understand what the journey can awaken within us.
The outer journey takes us to new places. The inner journey invites us to discover ourselves.
Established by Gayathri Siddhar Swami Murugesu, Gayathri Peedam is a spiritual place rooted in the pursuit of inner awareness, self-discovery, and the wisdom of the Siddhar tradition. The Lingam at the Peedam was installed by Siva Bala Yogi, adding another meaningful part to its spiritual history.
Gayathri Peedam welcomes those who wish to explore the inner journey, whether they are taking their first steps in spiritual practice or have been walking the path for many years. Through Siva Yoga, Gayathri Sadhana, meditation, and the exploration of Siddhar teachings, it offers a space to pause, turn inward, and deepen one's understanding of life.
The journey does not require us to have all the answers before we begin. It asks only that we become willing to look within, develop awareness, and learn through our own experience.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, the journey within begins with a single step.

Join a guided pilgrimage led by a yogi who shares the history, spiritual significance and traditions of each sacred place. The guidance includes explanations of the Siddhar path, insights into the spiritual practices associated with the places visited, and time for reflection and meditation.
As part of this journey, participants will have the opportunity to experience Kapila Vanam (Kabila Vanam), a sacred forest associated with Lord Murugan and the Siddhar tradition. Spend time in this natural setting, take part in a special Yagam, and experience a dedicated period of meditation in the peaceful surroundings.
The journey will also take participants to Kathirkamam, one of Sri Lanka's most revered sacred places dedicated to Lord Murugan. Here, devotees will have the opportunity to offer their prayers, connect with the presence and power of Lord Murugan, and deepen their personal spiritual experience.
This is an opportunity to go beyond simply visiting sacred places — to learn, participate in traditional practices, experience stillness and explore the Siddhar path with guidance along the journey.
